Vassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) est un peintre russe qui a révolutionné l’art du vingtième siècle en inventant l’art abstrait. Ses tableaux sont des univers à part entière, que rien ne semble rattacher aux nôtres. Ils ne sont que couleurs, formes, traits, damiers, rubans, disposés dans un chaos apparent et pourtant s’organisant selon un ordre secret. Chez lui les couleurs se suffisent à elles mêmes, elles sont vivantes, mouvantes, autonomes, indépendantes de notre monde alors à quoi bon le représenter?
Regardez ses tableaux et vous verrez  des univers en miniature, d’une richesse et d’une exubérance redoutable.

Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) was a Russian painter who revolutionized the art of the twentieth century by inventing abstract art. His paintings are worlds in their own right, nothing seems to relate to our own. They are just colors, shapes, lines, checkerboards, ribbons, arranged in an apparent chaos and yet organized according to a secret order. The colors are colors are sufficient in themselves, they are alive, moving, autonomous, independent of our world so why represent it?
Look at his paintings and you will see worlds in miniature, of a richness and exuberance formidable.

Francis BACON (1909-1992) est un peintre irlandais très connu pour ses tableaux torturés débordant de sang, de graisse et de tripes. Rarement un peintre aura mis à nu avec autant de violence nos sentiments les plus noirs, la noirceur de l’âme humaine mais aussi l’enfer quotidien qui nous étouffe. Ses tableaux sont de véritables cauchemars, les hommes peints sont morts, mutilés, hurlant, prisonniers d’un enfer d’autant plus terrible qu’il est impossible de s’en évader. Les corps y sont boursouflés, fondus, méconnaissables, semblant se liquéfier et s’effondrer sur eux même. Un des peintres les plus important du 20ème siècle, dérangeant mais extrêmement puissant et intéressant si on arrive à dépasser la répulsion qui nous prend à la vue de ses œuvres.

Francis Bacon (1909-1992) is an Irish painter famous for his tortured paintings overflowing with blood, fat and guts. Rarely has a painter exposed to so much violence darkest feelings, the darkness of the human soul but also the daily hell that is stifling us. His paintings are real nightmares, the painted men are dead, maimed, screaming, trapped in a hell even more terrible it is impossible to escape. The bodies are swollen, melted, unrecognizable, appearing to liquefy and collapse on themselves. One of the most important painters of the 20th century, disturbing but very powerful and interesting if we manage to overcome the repulsion that takes us to the sight of his works.
